A movie tie-in, published by Activision, with movie likenesses. Overall, the attention to detail in this game is fantastic and very much worthy of praise. All the weapons and environments are modeled very well too. This detail is important for making a successful film-based video game, and 007: Quantum of Solace really hits the nail on the head here, providing a truly immersive experience for players. The main characters from the Bond films that appear in the game such as James Bond, Dominic Greene, and Camille Montes, all share a likeness to their film counterparts and are even voiced by the same actors. You even get fast-paced quick-time events at various points throughout the story, switching up the gameplay to keep things interesting and unique. Not only is this good for spotting enemies without putting yourself in harm's way, but it also helps reinforce the fact that you’re playing as the famous James Bond and not just some generic character.Ġ07: Quantum of Solace is immersive, tense, and for a game released all the way back in 2008 it’s still very enjoyable to play through. The one big difference between this shooter and others, however, is that you get put into the third person when hiding behind cover. You get to try out and use all sorts of different weapons, from pistols to snipers and machine guns, all from a first-person perspective. Engaging shooter gameplayĠ07: Quantum of Solace boasts gameplay very similar to the likes of Call of Duty and other first-person shooter games.
If you’re looking for a classic Bond experience then we highly recommend you download 007: Quantum of Solace as it has everything you could ask for.
Following backstabbing and betrayal, White makes a daring escape which leads to a long chain of events full of high-stakes action. The plot is largely centered around a criminal organization known as Quantum, with the first scene of the game involving you as Bond kidnapping a prominent member of the organization for interrogation – Mr. The game follows largely the same plot as the film Quantum of Solace, with certain missions taking place in the past during the events of Casino Royale. If you’re a fan of the James Bond books and films then you’ll likely have a blast with this game as you fight enemies and complete missions in the shoes of the famous secret agent. It has a solid soundtrack and the voice acting is great and feels like it is a real movie.007: Quantum of Solace is a shooter game released on consoles and PC back in 2008 and is based on two films: Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale. The likeness of James Bond and M are fantastic and the game has you going all over the world and the locations are very well detailed. The production values of James Bond 007: Blood Stone are sky-high. You also get to drive boats which again is awesome stuff and helps add a bit of variety to the gameplay. These have you driving in a car chasing down the bad guys, one, in particular, has you in the iconic Aston Martin. To break up the shooting sections, James Bond 007: Blood Stone has some spectacular vehicle sections. A focus token lets you then take down an enemy in a slow-motion, badass kind of way which is fun. The melee system in the game is awesome and some of the takedowns are brutal! Not only are these fun to do and a way to be stealthy. You need to take down bad guys with shotguns, machine guns, pistols, and so on. I will admit that the game is not groundbreaking in its design and it plays things very safe, but that does not make it bad! You play as Bond and I would say the game is more of a cover shooter than anything else.
One of the unfair criticisms that I saw thrown at this game was that it was a generic third-person shooter. It is pretty action-packed stuff and the fact that they were able to get Daniel Craig, Dame Judy Dench, and even Joss Stone who is our token Bond girl to take part in this game does give it a real sense of authenticity like it could be based on an actual Bond movie. In James Bond 007: Blood Stone, we have Daniel Craig going up against a group of biochemical terrorists that sees him having to travel all over the world to stop them. The last original Bond game, Everything or Nothing was truly an awesome story. The plot of the game is perhaps not the strongest. At the time this was released, I thought that it was a lot of fun, even if some stuffy video game journalists did not! Spying All Over The World EA did this a few years earlier and did one hell of a job. James Bond 007: Blood Stone was the first time that Activision took a stab at making an original story with a James Bond game.
